Steward Observatory is the home of world class instrumentation that spans nearly every topic in astrophysics. The observatory has built instruments for each of NASA’s three great observatories, most recently deploying NIRCam on the James Webb Space Telescope. In addition, the observatory is home to missions of all sizes, from Balloon payloads to Explorer missions. Ground based work includes instruments for the telescopes at Kitt Peak, LBT, GMT, the South Pole, and more. Lab technology development covers a wide range of wavelengths, and includes detector experts in the UV, Visible, and IR.
