Everett is interested in what planets and their atmospheres are made of. He studies planet composition and maps by observing transiting systems - planets that cross in front and behind their host stars. He uses telescope on the ground and in space to capture the moment when the planet silhouette appears in front of star or when the planet hides behind its star to reveal its structure, chemical processes and how it came to be.
