Back in May 2024, astronomers from Steward Observatory announced the James Webb Space Telescope had observed the most distant galaxy ever seen, named JADES-GS-z14-0.

The galaxy that exists just 290 million years after the Big Bang.

The observations were part of a study using Webb to explore the Cosmic Dawn: the period when the first stars and galaxies were formed after the birth of the Universe.
