Tessa joined the Steward Observatory in August 2023, working with Dr. R©gis Ferrierre as part of the NASA-funded Alien Earths NExSS team. Her research is primarily focused on using global ecology and complex systems science to develop potential biosignatures for large populations of exoplanets, a natural evolution from the work she pursued for her PhD thesis at ASU on atmospheric chemical reaction network topology as a biosignature. Her goal is to use these new theoretical approaches to help guide future exoplanet observations in the search for life beyond Earth.
