Ph.D., 2023, University of Massachusetts Amherst
Areas of Interest: Structural transformations and galaxy quenching at high redshifts, cosmic reionization, AGN hosting galaxies
Zhiyuan joined Steward in November 2022 as a JWST Arizona/Steward Postdoc in Early galaxies and Reionization (JASPER) scholar working with the JWST NIRCam and MIRI GTO teams. Zhiyuan's primary research interests include the physics of the apparently profound transformations of galaxy structural and ISM properties that take place during the quenching of star formation, as well as the Epoch of Reionization. As a JASPER scholar, Zhiyuan is using deep imaging data taken by the JWST/NIRCam and MIRI to investigate the formation and evolution of galaxies across cosmic time. Zhiyuan received his PhD in 2023 from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
